RESOLUTION NO. 8
SUSPENSION OF BAN ON OPEN FIRES AND USE OF FIREWORKS
WHEREAS, Montezuma County Ordinance No. 2-2015 prohibits open fires and the use of fireworks in unincorporated areas of Montezuma County, except the Montezuma County Board of County Commissioners, based upon competent evidence may by resolution suspend said ban from time to time to the degree and manner consistent with existing wildfire dangers; and
WHEREAS, competent evidence has been presented of sufficient moisture throughout Montezuma County temporarily reducing existing wildfire dangers to more normal conditions;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Montezuma County Board of County Commissioners that the ban on open fires and the use of fireworks is hereby suspended. The suspension shall continue in effect until canceled pursuant to Montezuma County Ordinance No.
2-2015.

The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a Fire Weather Watch for gusty winds, low relative humidity, and dry fuels, which is in effect from Saturday afternoon through Saturday evening (noon to 10:00 pm).
A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions are forecast to occur. Listen for later forecasts and possible Red Flag Warnings.
