Request for Proposal for the Striping of Newly Chipsealed Roads
August 2026
Montezuma County Road and Bridge hereby issues a Request for Proposal for the striping of
approximately 16.5 miles of newly chipsealed County Roads.

All bids are due Wednesday, August 19, 2026, by 12:00 p.m. at www.bidnetdirect.com.
Bids will be opened on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at 1 :45 p.m., via the Montezuma County
Website YouTube link.
Under contract to Montezuma County, and as designated by the Montezuma County Road
Department, the Contractor will double center yellow stripe, with no skips, approximately 16.5 miles of
newly chipsealed road areas, with an average road width of 23 feet.
This work will be performed following standards set by the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic
Control Devices (MUTCD) 11th Edition, Part 3, Markings.
The Contractor will use their Equipment, their Employees(s) and their materials to double center
yellow stripe newly chipsealed areas of County Roads.
The time frame for this project would be approximately October 13, through October 15, and
October 19 through October 22, 2026, pending chipseal completion results or adverse weather.
Neither party would be held liable or responsible to the other party for delay in fulfilling the timeline of
the project, when caused by or resulting from causes beyond the reasonable control, including but not
limited to adverse weather conditions, natural disasters, acts of God, strikes, or government
restrictions. The affected party shall notify the other party within 24 hours of any delay, and shall
resume performance as soon as reasonably practicable.
Contract price shall remain firm and fixed throughout the Contract performance period.
The successful Contractor shall represent Montezuma County over other clients without creating a
conflict of interest.
The Contractor and its Subcontractors shall obtain and maintain insurance as specified at all
times during the term of this Contract. All policies evidencing the insurance coverage required
hereunder shall be issued by insurance companies satisfactory to Contractor and the County.
All insurance certificates shall include a requirement for naming the County as additional
insured.
The Contractor shall furnish to the County a Performance Bond in the amount of fifty percent
(50%) of the contract price. Bond shall be submitted within ten (10) calendar days after
notification of Award of Contract.
The Contractor shall submit their invoice(s) requesting payment after the completion of the
job. The County has the right to ask for clarification on any invoice after receipt by the County.
The Contract would be binding upon all parties hereto and their respective heirs, executors,
administrators, successors and assigns.
The terms of this Contract shall be construed and interpreted in accordance with Colorado law.
Any claims, legal proceeding or litigation arising in connection with the Contract will be brought
solely in Montezuma County, Colorado and both parties consent to the jurisdiction of such
courts.
The prevailing party in any action to interpret the terms of this Contract, of the Contract
Documents or to enforce any of the rights, obligations, or conditions of this Contract or the
Contract Documents shall collect all reasonable costs and expenses incurred, including, but
not limited to, reasonable attorney’s fees.
