A RESOLUTION APPOINTING THE MEMBERS OF THE MONTEZUMA BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AS TEMPORARY ACTING COUNTY ADMINISTRATORS

WHEREAS, the Montezuma County Board of County Commissioners (“BOCC”) is authorized pursuant to Colorado law, including § 30-11-103, C.R.S., and related provisions, to organize its internal governance, administration, and operational procedures necessary for the conduct of County business; and

WHEREAS, the BOCC is authorized, but not required, to create the office of “County Manager or Administrative Assistant to the Board of County Commissioners” for the efficient management of the business and concerns of the County, pursuant to § 30-11-107, C.R.S.; and

WHEREAS, the BOCC ordinarily employs a County Administrator to direct, administer, and coordinate the activities of Montezuma County in accordance with the policies, goals, and objectives established by the BOCC; and

WHEREAS, County Administrator Travis Anderson has announced his retirement effective July 11, 2026; and

WHEREAS, the BOCC finds it necessary and in the best interests of Montezuma County to designate members of the BOCC to assume the functions that have been previously delegated to the County Administrator to ensure continuity of governmental operations, administration, coordination, and orderly conduct of County business.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MONTEZUMA COUNTY, COLORADO:

The Board of County Commissioners hereby appoints:

Nothing herein shall be interpreted to grant unilateral legislative authority, independent appropriation authority, or authority to bind the County beyond the powers otherwise authorized by Colorado law, BOCC vote, adopted policy, emergency authority, or delegated administrative authority as articulated herein.
