Colorado Works (CW), also known as Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), is a federal program that provides cash assistance to income-qualified families with dependent children. Monthly payments help cover emergency household expenses and offer support in preparing for and finding work.
Aid to the Needy and Disabled (AND)
If you have a physical, intellectual, or developmental disability, we offer support to help you maintain your health, safety, and independence.
The Aid to the Needy Disabled (AND) program provides financial assistance to low-income Colorado residents age 18 to 59 who have a total disability lasting at least six months that prevents them from working.
The Aid to the Blind (AB) program serves individuals under age 60 with a similar six-month total disability. This program offers interim financial assistance while applicants await approval for Supplemental Security Income (SSI). Medical assistance is not included.
In Colorado, AND financial benefits are accessed through an EBT Quest Card, which functions like a debit card at grocery stores and ATMs, secured by a private PIN.
Old Age Pension (OAP)
Old Age Pension (OAP) provides financial assistance to Colorado residents age 60 or older with little or no income. Eligible applicants may also receive medical assistance. Benefit amounts are based on income and resources, with a maximum of $809 per month. Other income sources—such as Social Security, SSI, or Veterans Assistance—may reduce the benefit amount.

Home Care Allowance (HCA)
Home Care Allowance provides cash assistance to elderly and disabled individuals for services paid directly to a home care provider of the client’s choice. This support helps clients remain in their homes while receiving assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, transfers, meal preparation, laundry, and shopping. Home care providers may also offer support services like money management and appointment coordination.
